1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Chrome extension InsmartTech Backlink Opportunity Finder ("the extension"), published by Insmart Technology Inc. ("we", "us"). It explains what the extension does with information on your device and confirms that none of it reaches us.
2. What the extension does
The extension is a research tool for SEO professionals. When you are viewing a Google search results page, it reads the organic results already rendered in your own tab, classifies each one (directory, guest post page, resource page, and so on), scores it out of 100, and presents the list in a side panel. You then review the list and decide who to contact yourself.
The extension does not create backlinks, submit forms, send emails, post comments, create accounts or contact anyone on your behalf. Every outreach step remains a manual action you take.
3. Information stored on your device
All of the following is written to chrome.storage.local on your computer only:
| What | Why it is stored |
|---|---|
| Your research profile — the website you are building links for, your industry, your target location | To generate search query suggestions and to score results for relevance |
| Opportunities you choose to save, plus their scores and categories | So your saved list persists between sessions |
| Status, notes, contact details, anchor text and acquisition dates you enter | To let you track your own outreach pipeline |
| Extension settings and ignored domains | To keep the panel behaving the way you configured it |
Search result text read from the page is processed in memory to produce scores. Nothing is stored unless you explicitly save that opportunity.
4. Information we collect
None. We operate no server or backend for this extension. There is no sign-up, no login, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier and no third-party tracker. We have no technical means of seeing what you research, what you save or what you write.
5. Data sharing and sale
Because no data ever leaves your device to us, there is nothing for us to share, sell, rent or transfer. Specifically, we do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, we do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose, and we do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
6. Permissions and why they are needed
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
storage | To save your research profile, saved opportunities, notes and tracking records locally on your device. Nothing is written anywhere else. |
Host access to google.<tld>/search* | To read the organic search results already displayed in your own tab so each result can be classified and scored. Access is limited to Google search result pages; no other site is requested. |
7. Remote code
The extension contains no remote code. It loads no external script, no CDN resource and no hosted library. All code that runs is included in the package you installed and reviewed by the Chrome Web Store.
8. Exporting your data
You can export your saved opportunities and tracking records to a CSV or JSON file at any time. That file is written by your browser to a location you choose. Once you export, share or upload such a file, its contents are governed by wherever you put it — not by this policy.
9. Retention and deletion
Data stays on your device until you remove it. You can clear individual records inside the extension, clear all extension data from the settings screen, or uninstall the extension — which causes Chrome to delete its local storage entirely. Because we hold no copy, uninstalling is a complete deletion.
10. Children
The extension is a professional SEO tool and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly process information from children.
11. Your rights
Privacy laws such as PIPEDA and the GDPR give you rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data. Since all data is held locally under your own control and we hold none of it, you can exercise each of these rights directly within the extension at any time, without contacting us.
12. Security
Your data is protected by the security of your own computer and browser profile, and by Chrome's extension storage isolation, which prevents other extensions and websites from reading it. There is no transmission channel to secure because none exists.
13. Changes to this policy
If the extension's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above revised. Any change that would involve collecting data would be introduced only in a new version, disclosed on the Chrome Web Store listing before you update.
